Review

The lyre seems to have been a common instrument dating back to pre-classical Greece and found in many parts of the world. Designs seem to have varied greatly, but all the examples in this set look reasonable to us. One figure is playing pan pipes - another instrument with ancient Greek links although in the modern era more often associated with parts of South America.

The men and women playing these instruments are all quite simply dressed but look fine, and all come complete as shown apart from the pan pipes, which are a separate piece. Clearly these sophisticated shapes have been created with a flexible mould, so although there is no assembly the figures are remarkably three-dimensional and lifelike. The sculpting is very good too, with nice facial expressions that give the impression some are singing along to the music. A very nice collection of figures.
