This is a set of game pieces for the Zvezda 'Art of Tactic' game system. It consists of two PTRD anti-tank rifles, which was the main Soviet infantry anti-tank weapon of the Second World War. Each has a crew of two, a gunner and a loader, and they are presented in classic pose, lying prone and using their gun. The two poses are fine and can be used as they come, but the piece is intended to be shown on a base, as can be seen here, Our photograph shows the piece with the game flag incongruously planted between the two men, but of course for more general modelling the flag can be omitted, leaving a very nice little piece. See the sprue image for full details of the parts that go to make up these figures, both of which come in several parts. As usual the assembly is easy and such a good fit as to require no glue. While this is first and foremost a game piece it works really well as a complement to ordinary figure sets too, and the figures and weapon are all accurately and expertly produced.
