By the time Imex bought Accurate they had already promised a set of British infantry, but the Accurate equivalent was already on the market. When this Imex set was released, then, it seems the temptation to reuse the Accurate set was too great, which was disappointing.
Having said that, the Accurate set is great (see Accurate American War of Independence British Infantry), and Imex have been clever by adding even more figures. The original 17 poses (top four scans) have had an additional five figures and two horses added to them (bottom two scans). Thankfully the new figures are of exactly the same quality and style and blend perfectly. The choice of new poses is interesting. There is an interesting pair carrying a chest, a wounded soldier, a mounted officer (particularly useful) and another mounted figure dressed in the style of a light dragoon but presumably meant to be an aide-de-camp.
Everything said about the original Accurate set also applies to this set and the new figures. While it would have been nice to see a complete set of original Imex figures, the logic of taking a top quality set and improving on it is easy to see.
Note Recently released copies of this set contain the original Accurate set of figures, thereby missing the new figures discussed here. The box sometimes describes the new figures even when the old figures are inside, so be careful when buying this product that you know what it is you are getting!
