This set depicts French naval artillery for 1714. The artillery figures on the top row are the same as those found in the German set 1001, so see the review of that set, Catalan Artillery & Barricade, as the comments apply equally here. The first figure in row two is also in the set Bourbon Artillery and Staff, but the second, clearly a senior officer, is new. He is appropriately and rather splendidly clothed, and of the same production standards as the rest of this range. The obvious naval gun is moulded as one piece, and has a barrel 34mm in length. Although a little simplified it seems authentic. Finally there is a hard resin diorama piece, measuring 162mm long and 76mm wide. It seems to represent some makeshift gun platform, which is appropriate.
